howl, the ides of april

habra sido mi alarma que me desperto? o el lobo aullendo?
 ahora si

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

riding like the wind
good momentum down cathays terrace, traffic lights are green, a luxury car's coming in the opposite direction and yes, it's going to turn right, across my path ang on i've got right of way wide open he must surely see me no turn indicator starts a lazy turn well before the junction (why?)
gotta make my train of all my options slowing is not one of them
 so i speed up

are we playing chicken or is the driver distracted or
he's still coming for me so i try to squeeze over to the curb
he's still com
down to two thoughts now
FUCK (i might die today, i'm ready but is it worth dying for this, trying to get to a train that i can't possibly make?)

OMETEOTL

was he going to stop before i screamed no?
all my strength and intention comes out in sound, from my guts
as his bumper nudges my rear wheel, no, tyre
and i'm gone
missed my train, sure, but keep going you never know if there's been a delay
6minutes late to train, but there's been a problem, no train(!)
or no driver (!!)
"he's on his way in a taxi from Gloucester"
Avebury here i come, just hope i'm not too late, must be nice there even if i don't find Adam & co

buho

had a delightful and leisurely ride back to Swindon. admiring the ancient landscape, LO, an owl. i stopped and walked into a field to watch the owl's flight. walked back to the road and found Owl's nest. spent a good 10mins searching for a feather in the bushes, gave up and as soon as i went to throw a leg o'er bike again i almost fell off for the resplendent beauty of a large (tail?) feather standing in the tall grass like a flower a few inches from the road. a Crow followed me to the top of Church Hill, every time i looked to my left it was there, gliding playfully or nonchalantly pecking at summin or other in a field. amazing view from up on the Hill, stopped at Carter's Rest pub in Wroughton, sampled some stonkin' 6.66% Arbor Ale and made a couple of friends watching the second-half of the FA Cup semi-final. then i met an African gent pushing a "broken" bike, sadly i didn't have the tool needed to correct the shoddy work done at Halfords. Bless him.

when the reflection in the glass that i held to my lips, baby
